Western Visayas College of Science and Technology (WVCST)- Reserve Officer’s Training Corps Unit (ROTCU) Department of Military Science and Tactics conducted its parade and review and presentation of sponsors.
The said activity was held on January 30, 2015, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the WVCST grounds.
Led by Dean of Sponsors Miss Josie Calasagsag, 10 female students from the Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Technology (BS HRT) were presented before the WVCST-ROTCU, key officials, faculty, staff and students.
The sponsors marched in front of the cadets and cadettes together with the ROTC officers as escorts. Flowers and sashes were also given to them as tokens.
The corps of sponsors consisted of Jean Pearl Parreño, Pamela Hondonero, Rhinae Mae Palma, Mary Beth Queque, Gesah Cloma, Ma. Lyn Cari, Ma. Carmie Jee Faderes, Genesis Villamayor, Danna May Demetita, and Christina Roquero.
In his message, Dr. Manuel A. Sanchez, Jr., OIC president of WVCST and the honoree and keynote speaker of the activity, challenged the sponsors to come up with various socio-civic campaigns beneficial to the academic community and society.
Meanwhile, Dr. Nehema K Misola, Vice President for Administration and Finance, emphasized the importance of remembering the values the WVCST-ROTCU has imparted, such as honesty, integrity and nationalism.
ROTCU was designed to help the students develop the abilities and attitudes that will make them academically successful, well-educated junior officers and effective leaders.
First Lieutenant (1Lt ) Manfred Von P. Magat, served as the master of ceremony.
