The WVCST College of Education conducted a Student Teaching Orientation Seminar to its 4th year students for the first semester of Academic Year 2014-2015.
In the opening program held on June 3, 2014 at the EdTech Center, Dr. John Eric V. Juaneza, COE Associate Dean, gave the students reminders on how to be effective student teachers. ALERT, he said is the key word in student teaching. He told them that they have to avoid gimmicks, limit backlogs, do an extra mile to achieve excellence and they should always be result oriented and time conscious. He added that student teaching is a big opportunity for everyone to shine and impart their knowledge and skills to the students or pupils that they will cater.
Also present during the program were Dr. Susan Marie Pagunsan and Prof. Gloria Oscares, the teacher supervisors of the student teachers who also gave their pieces of advice. Composing the group who will be doing their student teaching are the BEEd, BSEd TLE, BSEd BioSci, BSEd Math and DIT.
