The Reserved Officers Training Corps (ROTC) unit of Western Visayas College of Science and Technology (WVCST) was rated “Outstanding” after receiving 91.60 percent in the Regional Annual Administrative and Tactical Inspection (RAATI) held last March 1 at the WVCST Parade Grounds.
Led by Chairman Col. Regie E. Gragasin, the team of RAATI evaluators assessed the effectiveness of ROTC instruction on the areas of theory, method of instruction, disaster risk reduction management, small unit tactics, military courtesy and discipline, company drill, assembly and disassembly of firearms (M-16 armalite rifle and .45 caliber pistol), administration support, and ceremonial parade.
The event was opened with a courtesy call on the WVCST president and the commandant’s briefing at the WVCST EdTech Center by the RAATI team together with the vice-presidents, deans and heads of the college.
The corps commander of the WVCST Army ROTC is Cadet Col. Leo Gene Valderrama while the commandant is Major Christian Misola.
