Students of Western Visayas College of Science and Technology (WVCST) who graduated with academic and co-corricular awards were honored on separate Parangals conducted by the different colleges of the main campus on March 23 to 27, 2015.
The Student Republic (SR) Parangal gave honors to the organizations and advisers on March 23 participated in by student leaders and advisers.
Mrs. Analyn Jacosalem, WVCST security guard, was one of those who was given an honesty award during the SR parangal for returning the Php 5,000 she found in the premises of WVCST.
The said money was owned by an HRT student which was for the payment of her tution fee.
Meanwhile, 246 students of the College of Industrial Technology (CIT) were awarded on the 24th led by Crystal Jane A. Manate, as the CIT's most outstanding graduate. Held on the same day, the College of Engineering and Architecture (CEA) Parangal awarded 300 students led by Georgie E. Fernandez, Jr. as the most outstanding CEA graduate.
The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) parangal gave awards to 180 excellent students on March 25. The most outstanding graduate of CAS this year is Daven S. Sevillino.The College of Education (COE) with the WVCST Laboratory School , on the other hand, had 500 students go up the stage for their awards led by Jovy Joy A. Padilla as the most outstanding graduate of the College.
The outstanding graduates delivered speeches of gratitude before their classmates, parents and teachers.
"I challenge you all to turn disappointments into valuable lessons in life," said Dr. Susan de la Cruz, head of the Office of Student Affairs (OSA), in her speech during the COE parangal.
The college's extension linkages, academic and co-curricular awardees were also honored duting the college recognition program on March 26, 2015.
