The Regional Quality Assurance Team (RQAT) of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) visited the school last November 26, 2014.
The said visitation was for Western Visayas College of Science and Technology’s (WVCST) university bid and for its completion of the certificate of program compliance.
In its second visit, the RQAT approved the three programs of the college. These are the Bachelor of Science in Education major in Mathematics (BSED-Math), Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Services Technology (BSHRST), and the Bachelor of Science in Community Development (BSCD) programs of the main campus and external campuses.
The programs were approved after an evaluation on the areas of administration and faculty, curriculum and instructional standards, laboratories and libraries, physical facilities, student services, research programs and linkages.
“We are all positive that we will achieve the University Status,” said Dr. Manuel A. Sanchez Jr. in his closing speech.
Dr. Efren Sucaldito, Dr. Gina Montes, Dr. Rogelio Borro, Professor Nilo Bolaño, and Dr. Joven de Guzman were the members of RQAT’s second visitation.
