The Western Visayas College of Science and Technology Extension and Services Division held a year end meeting and a seminar workshop for its partners in the Busog Lusog Talino Program in Magic Island, Nueva Valencia, Guimaras on May 27-28, 2014.
According to Engr. Cora Corbal, this activity is also a thanksgiving party to the partners of the Extension Division in the successful implementation of Busog Lusog Talino Program in the city and province of Iloilo. “This was scheduled late last year but unfortunately, some of the municipalities involved were hit by Typhoon Yolanda so we decided to postpone it. This is also timely because we have new BLT guidelines for the next implementation of the said program.” She added that Busog Lusog Talino will be again implemented soon with a new batch of beneficiaries.
During the seminar, Mr. Art Jhon Caliste, BLT Cordinator of Lemery, discussed personality profiling, while Engr. Cora Corbal gave the new BLT Guidelines.
Some parts of the activity were the BLT video presentation, team building and island hopping.
Participants to this year-end meeting and seminar workshop were representatives from 91 BLT Public Elementary Schools in the city and province of Iloilo, 7 municipal representatives, MSWDO, BLT coordinators, school principals and district supervisors, the COE Faculty and the Extension Division staff.
BLT or Busog Lusog Talino Program is a feeding program implemented to elementary pupils in the public schools in the city and province of Iloilo, sponsored by the Jollibee Group Foundation, together with the Local Government Unit, DepEd and WVCST.
