WVCST classes for the academic year 2014-2015 was initially opened by the pre-opening conference between the faculty and the WVCST Administration.
Dr. Carmelo V. Ambut, WVCST OIC to the Office of the President, headed the conference together with VP for Administration and Finance Dr. Nehema K. Misola and Dr. Manuel A. Sanchez, Jr., OIC VP for Academic Affairs and Campus Administrator. As a tradition, the conference started with the performance reports from academic year 2013-2014 and followed by the plans and good news for 2014-2015.
As the VP for Research and Extension, Dr. Ambut gladly announced that the Intellectual Property Office Institute and the US Patent Office in collaboration with the White House will be sending Dr. Richard Cahoon to WVCST to work on 4 technologies ready for commercialization. Likewise, WVCST will be sending exchange students for the International Student Scholarship to Jeong, South Korea as part of their Memorandum of Agreement. In addition, the Research and Extension Division has come up with a prospective design for the Research Center to be put up in WVCST.
Meanwhile, Dr. Misola promised that Academic Year 2014-2015 will be full of good news and surprises if everybody works hard. According to her, there are lots of infrastructure projects in WVCST that will soon be started. These, according to her, aside from improving the physical aspect of the College, will also encourage more students to come and enrol.
Deans from the different Colleges also presented their accomplishments as well as their proposals for 2014-2015.
An open forum was conducted before the morning session of the conference came to an end. However, an extension of the conference was later conducted by each College to discuss further some important matters.
