WVCST HOLDS SEND OFF PROGRAM FOR DR. LMS

            A send off program was held by the College in honor of Dr. Luis M. Sorolla Jr.,WVCST President who has just been elected as the 7th President of West Visayas State University on Monday, May 12, 2014.

                In a simple ceremony, Dr. Carmelo V. Ambut, the OIC to the Office of the President of WVCST, expressed pride and honor that another distinct member of its clan is sent to an equally challenging role as President of West Visayas State University. This only shows he said, that Western Visayas College of Science and Technology is the cradle of top notch presidents of higher education institutions in the Republic of the Philippines – a strong indication of quality.

                On his part, Dr.Sorolla jokingly said there is nothing to worry nor a reason to be sad because he is just next door or in the adjacent school. Nevertheless, he also expressed his sentiment because this is the school that moulded him and where he built his dreams from all the beautiful memories he had for very long years. Dr.Sorolla also expressed his heartfelt thanks to everybody who in one way or another has touched his life especially those who had supported his administration and helped WVCST grow.

                Dr.Manuel A. Sanchez Jr., VP for Academic Affairs and Campus Administrator also conveyed appreciation and gratitude on behalf of the College. He extended his best wishes to Dr. Luis M. Sorolla, Jr. as he journeys to another phase of professional life and good health to be able to serve his constituents efficiently and effectively.

                After the ceremony, Dr. Luis M. Sorolla, Jr. took time to personally thank each of his well wishers who gave him gifts as a gesture of thanks and good luck.  The ROTC Command of WVCST then gave him Military Honors as he was ushered to the University car of WVSU.

                Upon his arrival at WVSU Dr.Sorolla was warmly welcomed by the school’s key officials and staff as well as the members of the ADCO who were waiting for him to preside the meeting.
