After six months of thorough search process for a new President, The West Visayas State University Board of Regents (BOR) finally elected Dr. Luis M. Sorolla, Jr. as 7th President on May 6, 2014 in CHED-Central Office, Quezon City.
The search for the new president started in November 2014 and held its public forum in December. Dr. Sorolla was one of the three candidates for the said position, together with the two other existing key officials of the university namely Dr. Luis A. Abioda, WVSU VP for Academic Affairs and Dr. Bobby Gerardo, WVSU VP for Administration and Finance.
Dr. Luis M. Sorolla will assume office on Monday, May 12, 2014. He served as President of Western Visayas College of Science and Technology for eight years.
