Paul Wendell E. Aranga, 24 years old and a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Electrical Technology of WVCST successfully passed the Registered Master Electrician Board Examination with an average score of 85% and ranked #9 in the exam given last February 23 & 24 of this year.
Aranga, who descends from Brgy. Gerongan, Lemery, Iloilo, graduated Magna Cum Laude from WVCST in 2009. He was also chosen as the CIT Most Outstanding Graduate, and was as well given the Leadership and Community Service Awards. He is the second child among the four children of Merlyn Elegino-Aranga and Lauro Aranga.
In an interview, Paul recalled that when he took the board exam, his only goal was to pass, though his pre board exams showed possibilities of landing on the top 10. According to him, it was difficult on his part being a magna cum laude graduate because he had to live up with the expectations of the many. He studied intensively using a timetable that he strictly followed because of his short preparation for the exam. Unfortunately, 8 days before the examination, he got sick and ended up in hospital. He felt so lucky and blessed when after 3 sleepless nights, he found his name on the top 9 list of passers.
People may wonder why it took him 5 years to take the board exam. Paul relates that after he graduated from College he tried his luck in drug companies working as sales representatives as well as in ILECO 3 as a staff in its Marketing Department. However, after testing the waters, he realized that he needs to follow his dreams.
Paul Wendell Aranga dedicates this achievement to his parents who worked hard for his and his other siblings’ education. He said, “Though my parents are poor, I know, somehow, they have something to be proud of.”
