Western Visayas College of Science and Technology garnered the championship title in the 27th IIEE Regional Quiz Show held in WVCST last September 6, 2013.
The team of five (5) Electrical Engineering students namely Tristian Jay Bayotas (BSEE 5-A), John Kenneth Vinson (BSEE 5-A), Robespierre Boko, Jr. (BSEE 4-A), Julie Detaro, Jr. (BSEE 4-A) and Jey Reymar Pin (BSEE 3-A) were proclaimed champion after outdoing the other participants. They won a cash prize and were entitled to represent Western Visayas (Region 6) in the National Competition in Manila in November 2013. Their coach is Engr. Ferdinand S. Pedrajas.
The Quiz Show and the Regional Math Wizard were the highlights of the 9th IIEE-CSC Regional Student Conference with WVCST hosting the said event. This aims to elevate the standards of Electrical Engineering education in the country by promoting and organizing a healthy competition among student members all over the country. The theme for this year is “Leading the Electrical Practitioners Towards Global Recognition.”
